University Mental Health Day
Organised by Student Minds and University Mental Health Advisory Network (UMHAN)
#UniMentalHealthDay is an annual day to get the nation talking about student mental health and working together to make mental health a university-wide priority. No matter who you are, you can take part in this day.
This year we want to make #UniMentalHealthDay bigger and better than before and we can only do that with your help, so why not get involved? Try putting on events, sharing our resources and more! Check out Get Involved for more information on how you can make University Mental Health Day 2024 the best year yet.
Join Student Minds and UMHAN on Thursday 14th March 2024 and let’s work together to ensure that no student is held back by their mental health.
Why get involved?
“No student should be held back by their mental health”, that is our vision and our goal. But our latest research at Student Minds (Feb, 2023) found that:
- 1 in 4 students have a diagnosed mental health issue.
- 30% said their mental health has got worse since starting university
- 1 in 4 students would not know where to go to get mental health support at university if they needed it
Whilst awareness is increasing, a lot more can be done to address the existing gaps in knowledge, mental health literacy and the support available for students. Join us in being part of that change!
