What is University Mental Health Day and when does it happen?
University Mental Health Day is the biggest day of the year for student mental health, bringing together the university community to make mental health a university-wide priority, to create ongoing change to the future of student mental health. The day happens every year on the first Thursday in March.

Is University Mental Health Day still happening during the pandemic?
Now more than ever it is important to get the nation talking about student mental health. Although we can't be together physically we can still join together virtually to inspire conversations, take action and create change. Explore ideas for joining us on social media using #UniMentalHealthDay and running virtual activities.
Who runs University Mental Health Day?
University Mental Health Day is run jointly by Student Minds and the University Mental Health Advisors Network (UMHAN). Students Minds is the UK’s student mental health charity. We empower students and members of the university community to look after their own mental health, support others and create change. UMHAN is a network of mental health specialists working in the Higher/Further Education sector providing support to students experiencing mental health difficulties.
How can I get involved with University Mental Health Day?
Take a look at our ‘Get Involved’ page for tips and explore how you can get involved this University Mental Health Day. Anything from sharing your experiences on social media, to running an virtual event, to lobbying a senior leader at your university. The day is all about getting the nation talking about student mental health to get creative and explore new ways to shape the future of student mental health.

Is there a theme for University Mental Health Day?
There is not a theme for this year's University Mental Health Day, to allow you creativity to run activities that are important to the staff and students on your campus. You can find more out about previous University Mental Health Days here.
What resources are available?
Unfortunately this year we are not able to send out physical University Mental Health Day resource packs, but you can still use Student Minds resources from posters to postcards. Also explore our Student Space digital assets - videos, social media images, posters. You can also get creative and create your own resources.
How can I fundraise on University Mental Health Day?

Can someone from Student Minds or the University Mental Health Advisors Network attend my event?
If you’d like someone from Student Minds or UMHAN to attend your virtual event please make sure you inform us in advance and we’ll try our best to be there. Check to see if there is a Student Minds Group at your university or a Mental Health Advisor. Please note we’re a small team and while we’d love to attend everybody’s events, unfortunately, this is not always possible.
What can I do after University Mental Health Day?
